Data Sources
We currently aggregate fuel prices from the 13 licensed retailer JSON feeds for the United Kingdom. That is a retailer-by-retailer view: it covers the chains that publish a feed, not every forecourt in the country.
The government’s Fuel Finder scheme has published statutory data since 2 February 2026: every UK filling station must report price changes within 30 minutes, and the service publishes prices by fuel type alongside forecourt details and per-price timestamps. We intend to move to it, which would give us full statutory coverage rather than the feeds we can reach today. Until that migration is done and verified, the retailer feeds remain the source behind every price on this site.
Our Algorithm
Prices are processed through proprietary aggregation and scoring algorithms that normalize data across sources, detect outliers, and calculate representative prices for each location and fuel type.

Update Frequency
The UK ingest runs six times daily. Current-price pages only display prices backed by source evidence from the last 24 hours.
Data Accuracy
We validate coordinates, fuel types and expected price ranges before publication. Prices remain source observations, not guarantees; check the station before travelling.
